The season 1 of The Witcher is releasing this year only. The streaming service has completed the production of the new series. Star Henry Cavill announced the same via his official Instagram account. He seems really excited about it. (Check: Keeping Up With the Kardashians Season 17.)
The series is an adaptation of The Witcher books written by author Andrzej Sapkowski. However, it’s not directly related to the CD Projekt Red video game franchise aside from the similarities that the two naturally share. The author seemed excited about his stories’ adaptation.
The author, as said by himself, has spend over 30 years writing. He seemed excited about the efforts being put together as well as the team assembled to shepherd these characters to life. The Witches games are also based on the same source material. The series would feature a few familiar faces and storylines.
Until, it officially arrives, here’s everything that you would like to know about the series such as its release date, trailer, cast, episodes, spoilers, and other updates, etc.

The Witcher Season 1 Plot / Story
The official synopsis provided by Netflix reads the following:
“The witcher, Geralt, a mutated monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts.”
The Witcher Season 1 Episodes
The first installment of The Witcher adaptation will come with a total of eight episodes. Showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich confirmed the same via a tweet on the official Twitter handle. However, Hissrich mentioned that eight episodes won’t be enough.
According to her, the smaller season allowed them to produce tight and action-packed episodes that were free of lagging story moments. Besides this, she also said that smaller season doesn’t mean the lack of faith in the series or any other financial concerns.
Each of the eight episodes of the first season will be an hour long. However, there can be a little variation in each episode’s runtime.
